
Vidya Wells
Certified Ananda Yoga teacher (200-hour YTT), Vidya radiates a friendly enthusiasm and joy for whatever she is doing and whomever she is with. She took her first yoga class in high school, and through the years explored many different yoga styles. Discovering Ananda Yoga in 2022, Vidya said, “Ananda Yoga is the yoga practice I had always been looking for. It helped me become a meditator because of the physical/energy connection and the affirmations. Energization Exercises helped me raise my energy and manage my anxiety. People often take yoga for stress relief and gentle strength-building, but for me, it always felt like it should be a more spiritual practice. After doing Ananda Yoga postures, I always feel calm and centered.”
Vidya has traveled extensively for both pleasure and work. She served in the Peace Corps and taught English as a second language in Zambia, South Korea, China, Ecuador, and Botswana. She also has a deep connection with animals, having worked as an aquarist assistant at the Virginia Aquarium and as an animal caretaker for birds and mammals at the Virginia Living Museum. Vidya is caring, loving, and a true friend to others. You’ll feel her warm, kind energy during her yoga retreats.
